Title: Over The Edge
Characters/Pairings: Zoë Nightshade/Heracles(Hercules)
Warnings/Spoilers: Umm...has some slight facts from The Titan's Curse?

Summary: Zoe's very first encounter with the hero Heracles, and how one small decision changed the rest of her life.

Notes: Zoe has to be one of my favourite characters from PJO since she's another one of those empowered, independent women that I really admire and I thought it'd be fun to explore her past a bit. Of course a lot of this is head-canon but I've drawn upon what RR has established for Zoe and I really hope I've done Heracles' portrayal some justice. Beta-d by the lovely [info]heyjuliee , I can't thank her enough for doing this for me everytime.

(Heracles hadn’t expected to jump at the sound of her voice, but he certainly made a point to hide it.)

Logan Lerman and Douglas Smith hang out on the banks of a river in Vancouver, Canada on Monday (April 16).

The two actors play half-brothers, Percy and Tyson, in the new movie, set to debut in theaters in 2013.

While shooting, Alexandra, Douglas Smith and Logan Lerman all jumped on a green-screened sea monster.

The sound that came out of my mouth was not human when I found out Leven Rambin had been casted as Clarisse. In this Variety article Leven has been offically casted as "Clarisse" (one book too late if you ask me) the fierce daughter of Ares as we all know. The article aslo includes the date they begin shooting "Sea of Monsters," this exciting stuff guys! What do you guys think? Do you think Leven can pull it off?

The "Percy Jackson" sequel is directed by Thor Freudenthal and produced by Karen Rosenfelt, Chris Columbus, Mark Radcliffe and Michael Barnathan. Shooing begins April 16 in Vancouver...

thought i'd bring up one more casting update...

Vancouver High Schooler Gets Dream Role In ‘Percy Jackson’ Sequel

Here's a nice story that shows Hollywood is still a Dream Factory. Paloma Kwiatkowski has been cast as Thalia in Fox 2000’s Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea Of Monsters, the Thor Freudenthal-directed sequel.

Full article @ Deadline (via Hypable)

as is the case for many of you, i presume, my "ideal" for thalia was kaya scodelario, but i'm actually pretty happy with this choice! she looks JUST like i imagined thalia should look (sans the blue eyes-- but that ear piercing screams thalia to me!), and maybe even a little bit like kaya, too. (i'm gonna have a hard time learning to spell her last name, though).

one thing that gives me pause is that she may look a little bit too young, especially next to alex as annabeth, but if she has the right attitude, i have no problem with that. i wish we knew more about her acting abilities, but if she got chosen in her very first audition ever... well, that says something.

here's another picture of her i saw on tumblr:

another picture of paloma! )

Nathan Fillion to Play Hermes in 'Percy Jackson' Sequel (Exclusive)

Nathan Fillion is feeling god-like.

The star of ABC's Castle has joined on to star as Greek deity Hermes in Fox 2000's sequel Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters, based on the second book in Rick Riordan's best-selling young-adult book series.

i expect some people will not like the casting choice, but personally as a fan of sci-fi, castle, nathan fillion AND hermes, i'm totally into this. i'd never even thought about him as an option but i already think he's perfect for the role. what do you guys think?
